Spectacular is the only word to describe the rooftop setting from the Hotel Eden, where all of Roma Divina seems to be lying at your feet. The restaurant of the superluxe Hotel Eden, this aerie has wraparound windows to frame the grand vistas (too bad, the room's ceiling is so low). Enhancing the heady high is the lambinage of the decor, all soothing beiges and grays, with plenty of mirrors for all those makeup checks by Hollywood starlets. Happily, the food is nearly as lofty as the views. Chef Adriano Cavagnini is still in his early thirties, but he aims high as his crispy breast of quail with parma ham, lentils, and apples tatin, or "Casonelli" pasta filled with pumpkin and almond biscuits, or Barbera Maccheroncini with duck ragout and wild mushrooms, or chocolate mousse with crispy bananas and walnut ravioli prove. If you're a wine enthusiast, ask the maître d' to let you view the restaurant's showcase cellar. And don't forget the "Bar La Terraza," where you can sip, if not fully taste, "the high life" with an outdoor terrace to boot.
