$$-$$$, Italian, Parioli
Fodor's Review:
The well-heeled, the business-minded, and those of more refined palate frequent this outpost of tranquillity owned by Cristina, a local of Le Marche, the region north of Rome that borders the Adriatic. There's a palpable feminine air to the place -- in the luxe fabrics and flowers, the ornate oil paintings -- and Cristina and her daughter dote on their customers as you'd wish a sophisticated Italian mamma would, spoiling them with an ample selection of classic Italian dishes prepared with a creative flair. There's always a selection of dishes from their native region, such as olive ascolane (large green olives, stuffed with seasoned ground meat, breaded, and fried), various pasta dishes, and succulent roast lamb. Other temptations include the pasta (made fresh every day), a beautiful display of seafood fresh from the Adriatic, and a wide selection of meats and vegetables all ready to be grilled in the fireplace in the front room.
