Museo Barracco

Museums / Galleries, Campo de' Fiori

Fodor's Review:

This small but select museum offers a compact overview of sculpture from the ancient civilizations of the Mediterranean area, including Egyptian, Assyrian, and Greek works. The chronologically ordered collection is housed in a Renaissance building commissioned by a French prelate, a member of the papal court. Lilies -- symbols of France -- are prominent in the frieze circling the exterior.
