Castello della Manta

Castello della Manta Review

The exterior of the Castello della Manta, 4 km (2½ mi) south of Saluzzo, is austere, but inside are frescoes and other decorations of the period. Knights and damsels from an allegorical poem written by Marquis Tommaso III of Saluzzo, the lord of the castle, are portrayed in full costume in the 15th-century frescoes of the Sala del Barone. The castle sometimes hosts exhibits, at which time higher admission may be charged.
