The Genio, like many hotels in Turin, underwent a complete transformation in preparation for the Winter Olympics in 2006. Though steps away from the main train station, spacious and tastefully decorated rooms provide a quiet haven from the bustle of the city. Best of all is the service, which resembles that of a friendly family-run inn rather than a big-city business hotel. Pros: Recently refurbished property, close to the central train station, very friendly service. Cons: 15-minute walk to the center of town, area around the hotel is a little seedy.
