This family-run restaurant, one of Italy's finest, is known for its rustic elegance. The setting on the bank of the Tanaro River is splendid. The menu of regional specialties may include agnolotti ai tre stufati (with fillings of ground rabbit, veal, and pork), and to finish, zabaione caldo al vino Vecchio Samperi (warm eggnog flavored with a dessert wine). Fixed-price menus are available with or without the wine included. As you might expect, the wine list is first-rate.
