Rare style, attention to detail, and comfort are the hallmarks of this boutique hotel furnished and managed to create the feeling of a refined English town house. The sitting room has deep-cushioned floral sofas, a library, a collection of bric-a-brac, and windows overlooking an enclosed garden. A newer wing has a grand marble staircase and individually decorated guest rooms in which fine prints and patterned fabrics abound. The same care is found in the refurbished rooms of the original wing, and the well-equipped spa area, an attractive addition. Pros: Tranquil location in the center of town, excellent spa facilities, wonderful breakfast. Cons: Entrance is a little run-down, hotel parking lot is a couple of blocks away and finding a spot on the street is difficult, no views from the rooms.
