The most supremely stylish and glamorous hotel in southern Italy, occupying an 1876 villa above Marina Grande harbor, almost makes every other accommodations on Capri seem dowdy and dull. Nautical blue walls and white Corinthian columns set off a symphony of vintage photographs, 19th-century bronzes, and white-linen wing armchairs. Outside, regal stone sphinxes patrol teak-lined bay-side terraces; across a vast lawn, flowering fruit trees shade the gargantuan pool. The guest rooms have a Hamptons-meets-Mediterranean Modern vibe, thanks to billowing white drapes, four-poster beds, and 1940s French commodes. It's the place high lifers (sorry, rooms start at €700) must check out.
