Il Melograno

Il Melograno Review

One of the island's finest restaurants is tucked away on the road leading to Citara Beach. Try the crudo italiana (an Italian take on sushi) to start and then just indulge in food that tastes as good as it looks. New dishes with a twist are regularly introduced—the fried anchovies stuffed with provola cheese and homemade tomato bread was one year's winner. Another specialty is the beccaccia, a rabbit dish. Those on a higher budget and with a healthy appetite should treat themselves to the featured special menu, particulary the Mano Libera, the chef's choice, replete with local fish and vegetables given a nouvelle twist. Popular as this place is, be sure to reserve for summer dinners.
