Naples and Campania Restaurants

Aurora

Aurora Review

Though often frequented by celebrities—photographs of famous guests adorn the walls inside and out—this restaurant offers courtesy and simpatia irrespective of your persona. Although the oldest restaurant on the island (it used to be set high on the hill), now in its third generation, its decor is sleekly minimalist. If you want to see and be seen, reserve a table outside on one of Capri's chicest thoroughfares; otherwise go for extra privacy and ambience within. The cognoscenti start by sharing a pizza all'Acqua, a thin pizza with mozzarella and a sprinkling of peperoncino (chili). If tiring of pasta, try the sformatino alla Franco (rice pie in prawn sauce) but leave room for the homemade sweets. The place fills up quickly, so be sure to reserve.

Food was ok, but service was awful- non-existant even!
This used to be a good Pizzeria, but it has aspirations to be a swanky tourist trap. Witness many Americans bravely praising the small portions of food on oversized plates, and profusely thanking the sneering staff for allowing them to have a reservation. Save your money & go elsewhere!

The "In" place with so-so food and indifferent service. Pizza is NOT the way to go here. Had better at the parking lot in Pompei.
