Quisisana Review

Some people say there are really three villages on Capri: Capri Town, Anacapri, and this celebrated landmark, which looms large in the island's mythology. Superstar of Capri hotels, the "Quisi" draws "didn't-I-meet-you-in-Saint-Tropez?" guests who wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else. The Quisi's popularity has led to its expansion over the years: the lobby is enormous, the pool seems ready for an Esther Williams MGM production number, and the theater-cum-convention center is a jewel designed by noted modernist Gio Ponti back in the 1930s. But the hotel can't be beat for its shiny and luxe restaurants, see-and-be-seen bars, QuisiBeauty parlor, professional service, and location (just down the street from the crowded Piazzetta, this may be too convenient). These days, the Quisisana legend remains strong: if you want to plug into Capri's network of the rich and famous, one of the best places to start is the hotel's Bar Quisi with its Krug Room. The fact remains that even though this is Capri's biggest hotel, it is also its hardest-to-get reservation in high season.
