Stazione Centrale, 3 km (2 mi) northwest of Milan's Duomo, is one of Italy's major passenger-train hubs, with service to destinations throughout Italy and the rest of Europe, as well as frequent direct service within the region to Como, Bergamo, Brescia, Sirmione, Pavia, Cremona, and Mantua. Milan has several other railway stations; the one you're most likely to encounter is Cardorna, the central-city destination for the shuttle train from Malpensa airport. If you're traveling at off-hours, there's a chance you may have to venture to a suburban station -- most notably Milano Lambrate for Bergamo.
