Il Vittoriale

Il Vittoriale Review

The estate of the larger-than-life Gabriele d'Annunzio (1863–1938), one of Italy's major modern poets, is filled with the trappings of conquests in art, love, and war (of which the largest is a ship's prow in the garden). There's also an imposing mausoleum, made of white marble.
