Terminus Review

Commanding a panoramic view over Lake Como, this early-20th-century Art Nouveau landmark is the city's best hotel, with marbled public spaces and old-fashioned guest rooms done in floral patterns and furnished with large walnut wardrobes and silk-covered sofas. The 14 newer rooms, added in 2007, are worth requesting—they're bright and fresh, while the remainder can feel dated by comparison. In summer the garden terrace is perfect for relaxing over a drink, and Bar delle Terme, the candlelit restaurant, is filled with plush velvet sofas and resembles a large living room; the food and service are as fine as the decor.
