Twin brothers Maurizio and Roberto Montina have turned this restaurant into a local favorite. Don't be fooled by the "trattoria" name. The sage-green paneling makes it airy and cozy on a gray Milan day. Chef Roberto creates exquisite modern Italian dishes such as warmed risotto with merlot and taleggio cheese, while Maurizio chats with guests, regulars, and local families. Milan's famous cotoletta is light and tasty. Try fish or the frittura impazzita, a wild-and-crazy mix of delicately fried seafood. Unlike many Italian menus, there's a fine selection on the hard-to-choose dessert cart.

Good balance between traditional italian dishes with a modern touch.
Good fish but also excellent meat for a reasonable price.
