Corso Zanardelli 150, Gardone Riviera, Lombardy, 25083, Italy
This pink-and-white lakeside villa is now a fine restaurant, but it also has seven tastefully furnished rooms, some overlooking the lake. The house was given to Benito Mussolini's mistress, Claretta Petacci, by Il Duce himself, and the hotel's most expensive room, the Claretta Suite, is probably where they carried on their affair. The Art Nouveau restaurant features seasonal ingredients such as zucchini flowers and porcini mushrooms, especially in salads and soups.
