$$, San Marco
Fodor's Review:
In this refurbished 14th-century palace, the home of Giacchino Rossini in 1851-55, the friendly Lombardi family runs a hotel with spotless rooms. Guest rooms are functional, and many of them open out onto various terraces (a view doesn't necessarily follow, however). It's on a very busy thoroughfare, but triple-glazed windows allow for a sound night's sleep. Many rooms easily accommodate an extra bed or two, so this is a good option for people traveling with children; they also have a number of triples and quads available.
