If you want to get a taste of medieval Florence, try this hotel hidden within a former 13th-century tower. The Torre Guelfa once protected the obscenely wealthy Acciaiuoli family; now it's one of the best small hotels in the center of Florence. Each guest room is different, some with canopied beds, some with balconies. Those on a budget might consider one of the six less expensive rooms on the second floor, which are comparable to the rest of the rooms but have no TV. Pros: Wonderful staff, some family-friendly triple rooms. Cons: Stairs to elevator.

Everything was perfect. We had room 15 with the terrace. It was wonderful. Our friends stayed in a jr. suite and their room was huge and so was the bathroom. Staff very helpful. View from the bell tower can not be beat. Will stay there again.
