Fodor's Review:
A private family villa-turned-luxury hotel perches on the hills of the Arno's south bank, providing phenomenal views of Florence. Cool black, gray, and red tones complement contemporary Baccarat chandeliers and 19th-century consoles in public rooms. Carefully coordinated color schemes prevail in both the sleeping areas and the bathrooms. The stellar staff is fluent in English and are virtually equal in number to the guests. The Onice Restaurant ($$$$) has an inventive Italian menu that alludes to the five years the chef spent cooking in Thailand.
