$-$$$, Italian, Santa Croce
Fodor's Review:
Plain wooden tables, muted indigo-gray walls, and fresh flowers provide the backdrop for simple Tuscan food served by a gracious and caring staff. Have a quick lunch here (it's just down the street from Santa Croce), or linger over a candlelit dinner. Start with one of the tasty antipasti, such as the mozzarella di buffala con pomordori (buffalo mozzarella with tomato sauce), and follow with one of the hearty pastas; or opt for the tagliata, which is done two ways. The standard version has sliced, rare beef topped with arugula and Parmesan; the succulent tagliata di pollo is flattened and grilled chicken topped with arugula. Reservations are advised.
