Savvy travelers and those on a budget should look no farther, as this residenza is a tremendous value for quality and location. Though it's very much in the centro storico, the place is rather homey. You're given a large set of keys to let yourself into the building after 7 PM, when the staff goes home. Simple rooms have high ceilings and pale pastel floral prints. Morning tea and coffee (but no breakfast) are served in your room.

I stayed in Johanna I last summer. I did'n t find it so small, neither so noisy as the other guests over here wrote. Johanna I is a relaxing, silent place, no Tv, no air conditioning roaring all day long, no traffic in the streets. There's no AC, you're right, but actually it doesn't need it:beautiful ancient building 's walls are thick and don't allow heath to bore you. Crew is really kind and helpful, you can ask them suggestions for restaurants, reservation and any other info you'd need.
The only flaw: breakfast. But you can easily have a very good one reaching the close piazza san marco (where the Accademia is located, too).
