The perfect place to play the part of a Florentine aristocrat is at this 16th-century palazzo, which despite its massive halls and sweeping staircase could almost feel like home. Suites include large sitting rooms and bedrooms, all decorated with luxurious fabrics, chandeliers, and Renaissance-inspired furniture. The rooftop terrace, complete with bar, has citywide views that startle. Though it's only a five-minute walk from the Ponte Vecchio, the street is surprisingly quiet.

A splendid place in a splendid city

I have had the privilege and pleasure to be able to stay at this magnificent place 12 times over the last 6 years when I travel from Miami to Italy. The staff are professional and extraordinarily helpful. The rooms are superb, each one a suite and the location can't be beat: it is a very short walk across Ponte alla Carraia to Via Vigna Nuova and from there a straight shot - maybe 6 minutes walking - to the Centro Storico - all the advantages of getting quickly to the "action" as well as those of returning quickly to the peace and tranquiity of this lovely palazzo. The views from the rooftop are well worth the stair climbing - simply spectacular.
If Florence is on your itinerary, make it a point to stay there; it's simply superb.
