Overflowing with guests (thanks to many repeat visitors and tour groups), this hotel must be doing something right. Brits, especially, love the lobby stuffed with deliciously self-indugent armchairs, the exotic garden filled with lush vegetation, the pretty pool area, and the great-for-sunsets bayside setting. Super-comfortable guest rooms are suavely decorated: cove moldings, color-coordinated fabrics, and painted tile floors help disguise snug dimensions, including the small Juliet balconies which overlook the water. Spectacular bay views take center-stage in the Restaurant Le Muse, where solidly traditional dishes include a yummy bechamel lasagna. Unfortunately, this hotel is a ten-minute walk from central Sorrento so buses or taxis sometimes need to take up the slack. Pros : pretty Sorrentine décor; flower-filled gardens; very attractive prices. Cons : "dungeon" cliffside rooms (such as Nos. 207, 208, 307, and 308); l-o-n-g walk to central Sorrento.
