Yes, Ari wined and dined Jackie O right here. For decades one of Capri's most celebrity-haunted restaurants -- isn't that Michael Douglas at the table by the door? -- La Capannina is a few steps from the busy social hub of the Piazzetta. It has a discreet covered veranda -- opened up in summer -- for dining by candlelight in a florid garden setting, all pink, green, and white, with most of the regulars avoiding the stuffy indoor rooms. The specialties, aside from an authentic Capri wine with the house label, are homemade ravioli capresi and linguine con lo scorfano (flat spaghetti with scorpion fish), the squid stuffed with caciotta cheese and marjoram, and the "Pezzogna," an exquisite sea bream cooked whole in a copper casserole and garnished with a layer of baked potatoes.

Agree with "Living in the past"

This place is surviving on its past glory (as you can see from the photographs plastering the walls). We found the decor tacky, the food average, the service rude. The only truly negative dining experience we've had in Italy.
