Old Barracks Heritage Centre

Old Barracks Heritage Centre Review

The converted former barracks of the Royal Irish Constabulary, an imposing, castle-like structure (built after the Fenian Rising of 1867 to suppress further revolts) now houses this museum. Well-designed displays depict scenes from times of famine, the life of Daniel O'Connell, and the restoration of this fine building from a blackened ruin.
