Stop midway between Kinsale and Timoleague, on coastal route R600, for a meal at this farmhouse, which has been renovated in a cool, minimalist style and converted into a restaurant by the owner-chef Michael Relja and his wife, Kerrin, who gives a warm welcome and tends front-of-house. You can take an aperitif outside in summer, or in the uncluttered sitting room, which, like the dining areas, are decorated in a light and Continental style, with plain whitewashed walls and wooden floors, all retaining a simple, farmhouse charm. Seasonal menus feature the finest local ingredients, including Ummera smoked salmon and fresh seafood landed nearby. Menu highlights from talented Croatian owner-chef Michael Relja include garlic prawn salad, lobster risotto, a fine roast loin of lamb served with Roman gnocchi, and, as one of the top seasonal desserts, summer fruits with sabayon.
