A restaurant, bar, and small hotel occupy this attractive, yellow-stucco, blue-trim town house, with its landmark wall clock and welcoming flags. The guest rooms are on two floors above the bar and restaurant. They're small, but comfortable and well equipped, with plush carpets, flat-screen TVs, and well-designed bathrooms. The dark mahogany Victorian-style furniture and casement windows are old-world romantic. Windows are double-glazed to mute the busy town's late-night noise. Though there is no elevator, there is always a staff member to help you haul the cases. It's that sort of place: small, friendly, and heavy on charm. The bar has live music nightly from May to September, and it's a popular eating venue, too. Pros: right in the center of town; always abuzz; good for people-watching. Cons: no private car parking; risk of late-night noise.
