Cork Opera House Review

This is an unattractive concrete hulk that went up in 1965 to replace an ornate and much-loved opera house that was ruined in a fire. Later attempts to integrate the opera house with its neighbor, the Crawford Municipal Art Gallery, have, however, softened the grim facade. Still, it's the only show in town for opera buffs. The piazza outside has sidewalk cafés and street performers.
