This castlelike building contains an austere, 19th-century prison. Life-size figures occupy the cells, and sound effects illustrate the appalling conditions that prevailed here from the early 19th century through the founding of the Free State, after the 1916 Uprising. The Radio Museum Experience in the Governor's House tells the history of broadcasting in Cork, and features genuine artifacts from Cork's 1923 studio.
