Farther on you'll find that many storefronts in Clonakilty, a small market town 9½ km (6 mi) west of Timoleague on R600/N71, have charmingly traditional, hand-painted signs and wooden facades. The town has an indoor market with foods sold on Thursday and crafts for sale on Saturday. Inchydoney, 3 km (2 mi) outside Clonakilty, is one of the area's finest sandy beaches, backed by sheltered sand dunes.
