Cork is known as Ireland's festival city, the longest-running being the Cork Film Festival in the second week in October, and the biggest the Guinness Jazz Festival on the last weekend in October.

The West Cork Chamber Music Festival brings internationally renowned musicians to perform in the intimate surroundings of the library of Bantry House for 10 days in late June.

People come back year after year to the Kinsale Festival of Fine Food, which creates a party atmosphere all over town for the first weekend in October.
