Sligonians love this three-story, curving, glass-fronted restaurant in the center of town which sets out to please locavores. Everything on the menu is Irish, and food provenance is important to owners Ray and Eileen Monahan. Their company name, Source, inspired them to use local food from surrounding farms and fish suppliers. The result is that diners can choose from John Dory caught in the sea off Donegal, Sligo lamb, or Silverhill duckling from Monaghan. The 5–7 early-bird menu (Mon.–Thur., €20 for two courses) pulls in the crowds; prices for a main-course dinner average €19. Sit at a table of reclaimed timber and enjoy a lunch platter (served from noon) under the quirky fishnets and waste bins used for lights. Then, if you're impressed with your food, head up to the top-floor cooking school; its wide repertoire of classes is sure to tempt the hungry stray visitor.
