For those who wish to be pampered as well as immersed in the ancient Kingdom of Mourne, Graeme and Joan Hall's eclectically simple and stylish lodge is the place. The outside of the house is less than spectacular, but the busy estate has more than enough drama to compensate, for the family grows their own crops, raises their own farm animals, and bakes their own bread. Guest rooms are decorated in bright colors and have large windows with glorious views. Pros: stunning location in the heart of the mountains with the sea on your doorstep; rooms well appointed with pleasant en suite bathrooms. Cons: some say the restaurant is overrated; pity they've stopped churning their own butter.
