The Great Room

Fodor's Review:

Inside the swank and lavish Merchant Hotel, beneath the grand dome of this former bank's great hall and Ireland's biggest chandelier, you'll find the perfect setting for a memorable dinner of adventurous European fare. Exceptional offerings from the kitchen include suckling pig and sautéed langoustines with baby bok choy and ginger dressing, and duck-and-foie gras terrine with sauternes jelly, toasted brioche, and fig puree. Apple crumble with lavender ice cream is a fair sample of what you'll discover on the unusual dessert trolley. First-class service in truly opulent surroundings makes this restaurant worth a detour.
