Belfast Wheel

Fodor's Review:

One of the city's newest and most sparkling visitor attractions is the Belfast Wheel, which opened in October 2007. Located in a prime city-center slot right up against City Hall, the giant Ferris wheel rotates sedately with 42 air-conditioned capsules (including a VIP one with champagne). Each ride lasts 15 minutes and allows for three revolutions. From the highest point, at 180 feet, panoramic views stretch across all points of the Belfast compass incorporating the surrounding hills, and sightseers can appreciate how the city sits in a bowl. Don't forget to bring your binoculars. At the time of writing, the Wheel was due to remain until at least March 2009.

  • Cost: £6
  • Open: Sun.-Thurs. 10-9, Fri. 10-10, Sat. 9-10.
