City Bike Tours (15, includes bike rental and gear) are led by Martin McCrossan, also known for his popular City Tours walks. The 75-minute ride, on a mostly flat route, takes in city sights and some out-of-the-way delights and ends with a gentle pedal along the Derry City Walls. Tours depart on weekends at 10 and 2 from the Derry Visitor and Convention Bureau.
Top Tours Ireland operates double-decker bus tours (8) daily from 10 to 5. Departing from the visitor bureau and Guildhall, the tours last an hour, hit all the sightseeing spots, and have guides offering commentary.
City Tours (4), walks led by Martin McCrossan, leave daily at 10, noon, and 2 (also 4 pm from April to October). For two decades, Martin has shared his great passion for Derry with visitors. His tour, which departs from 11 Carlisle Road (just show up; reservations not necessary), lasts one hour and incorporates not only history and centuries-old stories but also architecture and engaging bits of local lore and humor.
Two other good walking tours leave from the visitor bureau. Tours 'n Trails (6) leaves at 11 and 3 except Sunday and includes a visit inside St. Columb's Cathedral. Historic Derry (4), a tour led by Stephen McPhilemy, leaves daily at 4 pm. Ask about these and other city tours at the visitor bureau.
