Damson Diner Review
American–Asian fusion cuisine in a retro-1950's diner with a modern twist: it sounds like a disaster waiting to happen, but the Damson Diner has been a hit on the Dublin dining scene. The place looks beautiful—three stories of chrome, glass, banquettes, and flood of natural light. The cool atmosphere is key, with relaxed, humorous but attentive staff, and a lively crowd fueled by to-die-for cocktails and fast but thoughtful dishes. The menu is basically a greatest hits of diner food from around the globe, with the spicy, bite-sized fennel bhajis and the pork chops with Asian slaw nice alternatives to the knockout steaks and burgers. The long bar is a top spot for people-watching and getting experimental—they forage for wild ingredients such as sloes for their cocktails.
