Fodor's Review:

Don't be surprised to see people ordering champagne with their meals—there's a permanent party vibe at this flamboyant Thai restaurant, which attracts Ireland's wealthy in droves. Comfortable high-back armchairs, quality art on the walls, and elegant stemware make this a stylish place to dine. But half the reason for going is to see and be seen. Try the crispy sea bass coated in crushed garlic in a sweet chili sauce. It's slightly off the beaten track, on a narrow lane off Pembroke Street.

This restaurant has a great buzz, with everyone seemingly ready to party. The main problem I had was that the waiter misguided us as to the spiciness of a particular dish. It turned out to be extremely hot and ruined the meal a little but overall we had a great time. The other dishes were very good, especially the spinach and tofu which was a side dish.

This used to be a favourite of ours, until recent appalling service steered us away. At our 5th anniversary dinner where a veggie pad thai was served with chicken and prawns. Honest mistake, you may say, however both meals appeared on the bill with no apology once the mistake was discovered. We were disgusted by the treatment from the careless waiter and ignorant maitre d'.
Our night was ruined and we'll never venture past that threshold again. Diep Le Shaker is totally overblown by the hype. Go elsewhere.
