The Khyber Tandoori doorman, dressed in traditional colorful costume complete with a dashing white turban, has become something of a living landmark in modern Dublin. A short walk from St. Stephen's Green, this gem of a restaurant specializes in Pakistani cuisine but also serves a broad selection of Indian dishes. Try the shami (Syrian) kebabs—dainty, spiced patties of minced lamb and lentils—or kabuli chicken tikka shashlik (marinated, diced chicken with onions and red and green peppers), which comes bright red and sizzling on an iron platter. Settle in and admire the richly embroidered wall hangings and the great gusts of steam coming from the tandoori oven in the glassed-in area.
