Dylan Hotel Review

"Sensual" is a word this dazzling hotel in an old Victorian building uses to describe itself, not suprisingly, as this spectacular addition to the sometimes staid Dublin scene knocks the eyes out with its "Victorian Contemporary Fushion" symphony of Arts & Crafts stained glass, bordello brocades, spray-painted silver furnishings, and lordly antiques. Even the Library has the feel of a place you might go for a naughty night with that someone special. The mysteriously lighted exterior looks beautiful at dusk and beckons you to enter. Upstairs, individually designed bedrooms feature leather padded walls, brocade wallpapers, and seriously sexy beds (one room even has a mirror on the ceiling). It might be a little too much, but there's no denying the place is splendidly unique. The restaurant continues the over-the-top decor with a lavish 1940s glam look, but the food is a little hit or miss.
