Ely Winebar

Ely Winebar Review

Almost equidistant from the twin dames of Dublin hotel elegance, the Shelbourne and the Merrion, Ely started out as a mere wine bar—and oh, what a selection of wines they have—but it has quickly grown into a wonderful little eatery with organic meat and vegetables from the owner's family farm in County Clare. Dishes tend to be simple—for example, the panfried cod with potato terrine, samphire (a local coastal herb), and clam chowder—but incredibly fresh and succulent. The plate of mature Irish and Continental cheeses is the perfect finish—with a glass of wine, of course.
