Some rooms in Reykjavík's oldest hotel, built in 1930 in the art deco style, may not seem spacious, but they are elegant and combine old-fashioned quality with modern comforts. Some rooms have whirlpool baths. All rooms have fluffy down comforters, tasteful prints (some antique), coffee machines, and CD players, as well as a fax machine on request. The adjoining hotel is in the heart of the city, overlooking Austurvöllur and close to Parliament House. The Palm Court Restaurant offers a good selection of Icelandic food in a classy setting.
