Byggðarsafnið Skógar

Byggðarsafnið Skógar Review

The tiny settlement of Skógar has one of Iceland's best folk museums, Byggðarsafnið Skógar. The curator of these beautifully preserved old houses and memorabilia is highly knowledgeable and has been commended for his efforts with the Falcon Medal of Honor, Iceland's highest distinction. He may even serenade you on the antique harmonium. Among the mementos of this region's past is a tiny, frail boat local fishermen once navigated along the treacherous coast.
