Borkonyha—the “Wine Kitchen”—is the best place in Budapest for carefully assembled, fresh, and innovative Hungarian/French fusion cuisine. Crispy duck liver, tuna tartare, daily seafood specials, bacon from mangalica (the Hungarian wonder pig), and pan-fried duck are standouts on the small but excellent menu. Specials on the chalkboards will be explained in English. Ask your server for wine-pairing recommendations, as one of the owners was a prime mover
with the Hungarian Wine Society. This very friendly, romantic, upscale restaurant has risen quickly to become a favorite of many local foodies.
