Fodor's Review:
The Carlton is proof that you can stay in the Castle Hill district -- even nestled at the foot of the hill itself -- without paying a fortune. Rooms on the upper floors offer lovely views over rooftops to Castle Hill, leaving one only to wish the smallish windows were larger. Request a newly refurbished room to avoid the adequate but stark gray furnishings of the earlier design. With downtown just a walk across the Chain Bridge away and the Castle Hill district rising in your backyard, it's hard to do better for location and price. A large buffet breakfast is served every morning.
