Múzeum

Múzeum Review

This old-timer is a surprisingly affordable option for traditional cuisine served in turn-of-the-20th-century style. A beautifully frescoed ceiling and tables set with sterling silver and Zsolnay porcelain provide an elegant, if somewhat faded, grandeur. Hungarian classics here, such as Hortobágyi palacsinta (pancakes), and crispy goose leg with steamed cabbage, are accomplished, but the menu also includes a few ill-conceived fish dishes like sushi. Stick with pork or veal paired with a good red wine from Villány (Bock or Gere are always safe choices); the wine list is extensive and well chosen.

The Place is only two tram staions from Le Meridien and Kempinski Hotels away, next to the National Art Museum. Beautiful old charming Rooms with friendly waiters that must have been there for ages. The food is heavy, but very tasteful hungarien cuisine. Try the local beer and the dessert" Samlauer Nockerl" 12% Service charge will be added to your bill!

Nice place. Didn't look tempting from the outside, but we stopped there for a snack. The people were very friendly and the food was good and reasonably priced. The interior is definitely worth checking out - you may stop there longer than you expected.
