Corvinus University (University of Economics) Review
Just below Szabadság híd (Liberty Bridge) on the waterfront, the monumental neo-Renaissance building was once the Customs House. Built in 1871-74 by Miklós Ybl, what was once the Közgazdasági Egyetem (University of Economics) is also known as közgáz ("econ."), following a stint during the Communist era as Karl Marx University. Still the country's leading institution for the study of economics, it has since been named Corvinus University—though it retains its nickname.
