$$$$, Obuda
Fodor's Review:
Capital of the Roman province of Pannonia in the first century AD, this part of Buda is more on the outskirts these days. With the HÉV railway just outside the door, the Corinthia Aquincum is well situated for easy trips to Szentendre, as well as into town; the ancient sights of Óbuda are just around the corner. Rooms in this huge, rectangular, red-brick property are fairly small for a hotel of this category, but they are sufficiently comfortable. The main draws are the sparkling spa and thermal baths, fed by ancient springs on Margaret Island, which is a short walk or bike ride across the nearby bridge. Although it's right on the Danube, the immediate surroundings are rather drab: a busy highway, the suburban railway, and the concrete Árpád Bridge.
