Fodor's Review:

This treasure trove of elegant, old Budapest is a 1900 stone mansion on the lower slopes of Gellért Hill, right behind the Hotel Gellért. Those who appreciate original ambience over amenities will be pleased. While cheaper doubles on the ground floor are relatively small and dark, there are also antique-filled suites and opulent, full-scale apartments that can accommodate two couples. Some rooms come with a kitchen, others with a terrace. Ask Eszter (who speaks English) to help you choose a room to fit your budget and standards. The Kalmár family has been running the house as a B&B since 1964, slowly buying back rooms and apartments that were partitioned off during the communist era. Breakfast is served on delicate matching porcelain.
