Evangelistria Monastery
Evangelistria Monastery Review
Perched on Palouki mountain and overlooking the sea and Skopelos' Chora, the impressive Evangelistria Monastery was founded in 1676 and completely rebuilt in 1712 by Ioannis Grammatikos, who believed he was saved from execution by an 11th-century icon of the Virgin. It contains no frescoes but has an intricately carved iconostasis and the miraculous icon.
